How to use 9D Cat Eye Gel Polish Duo
9D cat eye gel polish contains magnetic particles that move with a magnet to create a band of light. Thin coats and quick curing give the sharpest effect.
What you need
- GEL PARTY 9D Cat Eye Gel Polish Duo
- Cat eye magnet
- Base coat and no-wipe top coat
- Black gel polish (optional)
- UV/LED lamp
Step by step
Prep and base
Prep and dehydrate the nails, apply a thin base coat and cure.
Apply a background (optional)
For maximum depth, apply a coat of black gel polish and cure. For a soft, sheer glow, skip this step or use a nude base.
Apply the cat eye gel
Shake the bottle well, then apply a thin coat of the cat eye gel. Do not cure yet.
Use the magnet
Hold a cat eye magnet 3–5 mm above the wet gel for 5–10 seconds. Move it to create a line, a diagonal flash or a soft velvet glow.
Cure immediately
Cure right after using the magnet so the effect stays sharp. Cure in an LED lamp for about 60 seconds or a UV lamp for about 120 seconds. Cure times vary by lamp wattage, so follow your lamp’s guide.
Second coat and top coat
Repeat for a second coat for more intensity, then seal with a no-wipe top coat and cure.
Pro tips
- Shake the bottle every time; the magnetic particles settle.
- Work one nail at a time so the effect does not blur before curing.
- Try silver over black for drama, or over sheer pink for a soft glow.
Avoid
- Do not apply thick coats; the particles will not move cleanly.
- Do not touch the nail with the magnet.
Removal & aftercare
File away the top coat to break the seal. Wrap each nail in a cotton pad soaked in acetone (or apply a soak-off gel remover) for 10–15 minutes, then gently push the softened gel off with a cuticle pusher. Never peel or pry gel off the natural nail. Finish with cuticle oil.
