About Top Coat & Base Coat Kit

A slightly tacky base after curing is normal: it helps the next layer bond.

How to use Top Coat & Base Coat Kit
A gel manicure lasts as long as its base and top coat. The base coat grips the natural nail and the color layers. The no-wipe top coat seals everything under a high-shine, chip-resistant finish.
What you need
- GEL PARTY Base Coat and Top Coat
- Gel polish colors
- UV/LED lamp
- 180-grit file
- Lint-free wipes
Step by step
Prep the natural nail
Push back the cuticles, remove any non-living tissue from the nail plate, then lightly buff away the shine with a 180-grit file. Brush off all dust.
Dehydrate
Wipe each nail with a lint-free pad and alcohol or a nail dehydrator. Do not touch the nail plate after this step; skin oils cause lifting.
Apply the base coat
Brush a thin layer of base coat, cap the free edge and keep 1 mm away from the cuticle and sidewalls. Cure in an LED lamp for about 60 seconds or a UV lamp for about 120 seconds. Cure times vary by lamp wattage, so follow your lamp’s guide.
Apply color
Apply two thin coats of gel polish, curing after each coat. Cap the free edge every time.
Apply the top coat
Apply an even layer of top coat over the entire nail, capping the free edge.
Cure and finish
Cure fully. The top coat is no-wipe, so the finish is glossy straight from the lamp. Apply cuticle oil.
Pro tips
- A slightly tacky base after curing is normal; it helps the color bond.
- Capping the free edge with every layer is the best way to prevent chips.
- Use the top coat over chrome, nail art and builder gel too.
Avoid
- Avoid thick layers; they can wrinkle or cure incompletely.
- Clean any gel that touches the skin before curing.
Removal & aftercare
File away the top coat to break the seal. Wrap each nail in a cotton pad soaked in acetone (or apply a soak-off gel remover) for 10–15 minutes, then gently push the softened gel off with a cuticle pusher. Never peel or pry gel off the natural nail. Finish with cuticle oil.
