How to use Clear Builder Gel in a Bottle
Clear builder gel in a brush-on bottle combines the strength of builder gel with the ease of a polish brush. Use it to strengthen thin nails, add an apex, extend on tips, or set rhinestones.
What you need
- GEL PARTY Clear Builder Gel 2 × 15 mL
- Base coat and top coat
- UV/LED lamp
- 180-grit file
- Lint-free wipes
Step by step
Prep the natural nail
Push back the cuticles, remove any non-living tissue from the nail plate, then lightly buff away the shine with a 180-grit file. Brush off all dust.
Dehydrate
Wipe each nail with a lint-free pad and alcohol or a nail dehydrator. Do not touch the nail plate after this step; skin oils cause lifting.
Apply a thin first layer
Brush on a thin layer of builder gel over the entire nail and cure. Cure in an LED lamp for about 60 seconds or a UV lamp for about 120 seconds. Cure times vary by lamp wattage, so follow your lamp’s guide.
Build the apex
Place a bead of builder gel in the center of the nail, guide it toward the sidewalls and free edge, and let it self-level with the hand upside down for 5–10 seconds.
Cure
Cure fully, then wipe any sticky layer.
Refine and finish
File the shape and surface, apply color if desired, and finish with top coat.
Pro tips
- Use it as an adhesive for rhinestones and charms: place the gem on uncured gel, then cure.
- For extensions, apply over soft gel tips or dual forms.
- Wipe the brush on the bottle neck to control the amount.
Avoid
- Avoid touching the skin and cuticles.
- Do not apply too much at the free edge; keep it thin there.
Removal & aftercare
File the product down with a 100/180 file or an e-file, leaving a thin layer over the natural nail. Remaining product can be soaked off or left as a base for the next set. Finish with cuticle oil.
