How to use Nail Prep Kit
Nail prep is the most important step of any gel, builder or acrylic service. The dehydrator removes moisture and oil from the nail plate and the bonder creates a strong bond, so the products on top stay put for weeks.
What you need
- GEL PARTY Nail Prep Dehydrator
- GEL PARTY UV/LED Bonder Gel
- UV/LED lamp
- 180-grit file
- Lint-free wipes
Step by step
Prep the natural nail
Push back the cuticles, remove any non-living tissue from the nail plate, then lightly buff away the shine with a 180-grit file. Brush off all dust.
Apply the dehydrator
Brush one thin coat of dehydrator over the entire nail plate. It air-dries in seconds and turns the nail slightly matte.
Apply the bonder
Brush a very thin coat of bonder gel over the nail, avoiding the skin and cuticle.
Cure the bonder
Cure in an LED lamp for about 60 seconds or a UV lamp for about 120 seconds. Cure times vary by lamp wattage, so follow your lamp’s guide.
Continue with your system
Apply base coat, builder gel, poly gel or acrylic as usual right after the bonder.
Pro tips
- Less is more: a thin, even layer of bonder bonds better than a thick one.
- Close the bottles right after use to stop evaporation.
- Ideal for clients whose gel usually lifts at the cuticle or free edge.
Avoid
- Do not apply on skin or cuticles.
- Do not touch the nail after dehydrating.
- Do not use on damaged, infected or irritated nails.
Removal & aftercare
The bonder is removed together with the products on top. Soak off gel layers, or file off builder and acrylic as usual.

Do I need a lamp?
The dehydrator and primer air-dry. A UV/LED bonder gel needs to be cured.
