How to use Dual Nail Forms
Dual forms give quick, even extensions with a perfect shape every time: fill, press, cure and pop off.
What you need
- GEL PARTY Dual Nail Forms
- Poly gel or builder gel
- Slip solution and brush
- Base coat and top coat
- UV/LED lamp
- File
Step by step
Prep the natural nail
Push back the cuticles, remove any non-living tissue from the nail plate, then lightly buff away the shine with a 180-grit file. Brush off all dust.
Dehydrate
Wipe each nail with a lint-free pad and alcohol or a nail dehydrator. Do not touch the nail plate after this step; skin oils cause lifting.
Apply base coat
Apply a thin base coat and cure.
Choose the form
Pick a form that fits the nail from sidewall to sidewall.
Fill the form
Place a small amount of poly gel inside the form and shape it with a brush lightly dampened with slip solution. Keep it thin at the cuticle end.
Press on
Press the form onto the nail at a 45° angle, then lower it. Clean any product that touches the skin.
Cure and release
Cure in an LED lamp for about 60 seconds or a UV lamp for about 120 seconds. Cure times vary by lamp wattage, so follow your lamp’s guide. Then gently twist the form to pop it off.
Finish
File the shape and apply color and top coat.
Pro tips
- Draw a French smile line with white poly gel inside the form for an instant French.
- Wipe forms clean with alcohol to reuse them.
Avoid
- Do not overfill the form.
- Do not press too hard.
Removal & aftercare
File the product down with a 100/180 file or an e-file, leaving a thin layer over the natural nail. Remaining product can be soaked off or left as a base for the next set. Finish with cuticle oil.
