How to use Builder Gel in a Bottle
Builder Gel in a Bottle (BIAB) gives you builder gel strength with the ease of a polish brush. Each PRO Dream Series set has six shades: sheer, milky and cover nudes and pinks for strengthening, extending and coloring in one step.
What you need
- GEL PARTY Builder Gel in a Bottle set
- No-wipe top coat
- UV/LED lamp
- 180-grit file
- Lint-free wipes
Step by step
Prep the natural nail
Push back the cuticles, remove any non-living tissue from the nail plate, then lightly buff away the shine with a 180-grit file. Brush off all dust.
Dehydrate
Wipe each nail with a lint-free pad and alcohol or a nail dehydrator. Do not touch the nail plate after this step; skin oils cause lifting.
Scrub in a thin base layer
Brush a very thin layer of builder gel into the nail and cure. Cure in an LED lamp for about 60 seconds or a UV lamp for about 120 seconds. Cure times vary by lamp wattage, so follow your lamp’s guide.
Apply the structure layer
Place a bead of builder gel in the center of the nail and guide it toward the sidewalls and free edge, keeping 1 mm away from the skin.
Self-level
Turn the finger upside down for 5–10 seconds so the gel forms a smooth apex.
Cure and refine
Cure fully, wipe any sticky layer and refine the shape with a file.
Finish
Wear the shade as is, or add gel color. Seal with no-wipe top coat and cure.
Pro tips
- Choose a sheer shade to strengthen natural nails and a cover shade to camouflage the nail bed.
- Infills: file the old product down, leaving a thin layer, and rebuild the apex every 3–4 weeks.
- Mix two shades for a custom nude.
Avoid
- Do not flood the cuticle area.
- Do not skip dehydrating.
Removal & aftercare
File away the top coat to break the seal. Wrap each nail in a cotton pad soaked in acetone (or apply a soak-off gel remover) for 10–15 minutes, then gently push the softened gel off with a cuticle pusher. Never peel or pry gel off the natural nail. Finish with cuticle oil. For a fresh infill, file the product down instead of removing it completely.
Questions about Builder Gel in a Bottle
Can I use it on natural nails?
Yes. Apply a thin layer over prepped natural nails to strengthen them, or build an apex for extra durability.
Do I need a base coat?
Use a dehydrator and a bonder or base coat first for the best adhesion.
How long should I cure?
Cure times depend on your lamp’s power. Follow the label and your lamp’s instructions; thicker layers may need longer.
How do I remove it?
File off the top layer, then soak off with gel remover.
